I created a board game (www.blockersandbumpers.com), does anybody know how I could get it manufactured or have any advice? Thanks!Does anyone have advice on how to get a board game I made manufactured?
Amazon.com has several books on the subject.
It's very difficult to get big name publishers to look at your game. Most companies do not accept submissions of games never published before. The reason is because the company is afraid that their R%26amp;D department may be working on something similar to the mechanics or style of your game and that later on you can claim that the company stole your idea.
It is possible for two people to get the same idea at about the same time, so the companies don't risk it.
Self publishing your game can be expensive, but if you got the cash, its the way to go. You market your game on a small scale and sell it locally, then, with that track record, you can approach the big companies, since your game has already been published and marketed, they will have no qualms looking it over.
I'm a game maker myself, never published, but do enjoy creating board and card games.
Hope this helps!
Peace!Does anyone have advice on how to get a board game I made manufactured?
The game seems a bit fiddly, I imagine I would spend more time attaching and removing elastics than throwing the ball. The cards lack variety, and there is no real ';wow!'; factor that is going to grab my attention and get me to plunk down $50 or so dollars for the game.
Also, while there might be strategy, at the end of the day, this is simply plinko. As anyone who has seen Price is Right can attest, that game is mostly random.
To me, this is hitting the same general field as crokinole and/or pitchcar... so the question is going to be, what makes your game better?
