And I can get no rest at night. I tryed spraying water , but he loves water. And he plays so rough all the time. What can I do to stop this . And he has to stay in my room at night , so he wont get into trouble agian. How can I get my kitten to behave? All advice.?
Hes a kitten, they love to play. You can buy some soft claws, they are little plastic tips for his nails, you can put them on his front and back claws so he wont scratch you during the night. That might help in that aspect, just look online for soft claws, they come in kitten sizes. Other than that, just let him play and have fun.How can I get my kitten to behave? All advice.?
hes a kitten hes not gonna behave
You have to punish him somehow, my best advice would be to put him in a cage after he bothers you in your sleep until the next morning. If you do this everytime then eventually he will stop and you can leave him to roam the room during the night. You can also buy caps for his nails so they wont scratch you. You can also try to spray No-Scratch on or around the bed to keep him off.
GET THAT CAT FIXED!
He obviously is the one that has decided you are now his play toy, not the ones you got for him. I do agree you should crate him at night and when he is especially rough to help stop the behavior. Make sure to get his nails trimmed and the vet's office should also have the cat caps (nail covers) that they use a safe glue on so the cat can not get them off. As for the biting, if he gets too rough, start to push your hand more onto their mouth. It sounds really weird, but have had it work on all my cats, it makes them let go and realize you do not like it. Gently nipping the ear and walking away can sometimes help too, he's trying to be the dominant one, just have patience and start to take control away from him, he will learn, and as he does get older (unless you want him to start spraying, get him fixed asap) he will mellow out some, just don't expect it overnight.
Buy a Dazzer II. They're great for training.
you should have got an adult.. he is simply being a normal kitten....
DO NOT play with him when he scratches or bites... simply get up and leave - eventually he will learn that this behavior isnt in his best interest as it ends play time...
get him more toys (honeysuckle toys are good) and encourage him to play with the toys more by rolling balls for him to chase etc... keep some toys hidden as cats prefer toys they havent seen for a week or so
i think i have his sister..lol..i got Olivia Spaceboots almost a year ago and she was-and is..non-stop.Just be patient and enjoy him and good luck!
hes a kitten, kittens play!
try putting him in a crate or carrier at night...get him good and tired before bedtime by playing with him and make sure he has eaten and had some water (not too much) and make sure he has used the litter box then put him to nite-nite...i have a cat that sleeps in the carrier every night because she fights with my other cat so she likes it now she is trained to sleep in there
8 Months old!! You should and ought to have him fixed by now. That's why he is the way he is.
well that is very typical of a kitten, but instead of regular water put vinegar in it. try crating him at night, for i too, was prone to wake up with a million scratches. sometimes it is just the personality and they will always be like that, but i would defiantly say put him in a crate. Oh, and don't feel sorry for him otherwise he will become the owner
If you buy a squirt gun then that should help. whenever he is being bad then you squirt him. That worked on my cat really well.
You can try scolding him or the water thing. The only thing that worked for me was time. As they get older, they settle down some (with the exception of Dixie, my Maine Coon who is still wild as a buck at 1 1/2 years old). My other 3 settled down at about 1 year. Spaying and nuetering definely helps and so does having a companion to play with. You might consider getting another kitten for him to play with, if you have time and space for another.
