ThankyouDoes anyone have any advice and tips on how to get a budgie back into his cage?
The budgie has to get to trust you. He will in time come to you. For now, you could find something he likes to eat and see if he will come to you when you are holding it for him. it will take time and practise, like everything else in life.He will in time come to you as he will see you as being safe.Just watch those open doors/windows.This is how I lost my budgie, he flew right out of the door... I wasnt home and my husband was getting new flooring for me as a surprise and the man delivering the new floor knocked and opened the door, out went Bluie.so make sure yours are all shut tight! :) Good luck! Our 12 year old budgie still will not fly and land on us. He will jump onto his cage, and then step onto our finger. When he was younger, he would fly around and land on the floor, and that's when we would carefully place a lightweight beach towel over him. My son would pick him up and remove the towel. Birdie didn't get hurt that way. They do eventually get tired flying around and land somewhere so that you can have him hop onto your finger. Good luck.
I normally just let mine go back on their own (before they had a room of their own) but if i needed them to go quickly I hung millet(millet is like a magic thing for birds lol) in the cage.
